Member of the Presidency of BiH from the Bosniak people Bakir Izetbegovic today takes over the position of the Chairman from the member of the Presidency BiH from the Croatian people Dragan Covic, which he will perform in the next 8 months.
As Izetbegovic told reporters after last night’s meeting of the collegium of the SDA, his first priority is the implementation of the Master plan on the process of integrating BiH into the EU, which still involves a series of the most important priorities for the progress of reforms in BiH, which is related to the rule of law, market economy, and measures in general that will strengthen and open up the space for economic recovery.
“There is also BiH’s path to NATO, taking over the first annual plan within the framework of the MAP. We do not have much chances, but we should do our best. We need to fight to lobby with friendly countries that have influence on the decisions of NATO alliance, for BiH to receive the first annual plan,” said Izetbegovic.
After eight months, Izetbegovic will be replaced from the position of Chairman by member of the Presidency of BiH from the ranks of the Serbian people, Mladen Ivanic.
