Izetbegovic met with the New Ambassador of Germany to BiH

Izetbegovic HochmannChairman of the Presidency of BiH, Bakir Izetbegovic, received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in BiH, Christiane Constanze Hohmann.

Chairman Izetbegovic thanked for the continued support of Germany to BiH, especially in the process of EU enlargement.

The newly appointed Ambassador stated that the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany lead by Chancellor Angela Merkel, as well as the German people, are giving full support to BiH in the process of integration into the EU and NATO.

It was concluded that significant progress was made on the EU path of BiH Ambassador Hohmann believes that the good cooperation between the two countries matured over time and now gives results. They also emphasized the importance of good political relations, which, among other things, are reflected on the meetings at the high and highest level, such as last year’s visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Sarajevo, and return visits of members of the Presidency this year in June.

It was assessed that such good relations are opening opportunities for further improvement on economic plan, especially when it comes to German investments in major infrastructure projects in BiH.

“Germany is the most important trade partner of your country, many German companies are successfully engaged on BH market. Many joint projects, exchange programs and partnerships between cities are responsible for this friendship between people of our two countries,” said Ambassador Hohmann.

At the end, the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Bakir Izetbegovic, wished successful mandate to the newly appointed ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany to BiH.
