IzetbegovićMember of the Presidency of BiH Bakir Izetbegovic said that Russia does not have a destabilizing effect and destructive policy towards BiH.

While commenting the statement of Deputy Assistant of the US Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Hoyt Brian Yee that the influence of Russia in the Balkans is visible and that it supports secessionist rhetoric in BiH and the secession of the RS, Izetbegovic said that Russia has no such influence in BiH.

“It is clear that they unilaterally support the Orthodox Christians in the Balkans, but to go so far as to harm the Serbs in BiH and the Balkans and push them into that kind of thing, I do not think so. I think the opposite, and even Milorad Dodik came with the changed rhetoric from Moscow and said that they will not go for the succession,” said Izetbegovic.

Izetbegovic announced the possibility of resolving the issues of maintenance of the elections in Mostar until the end of 2017 or by the spring of 2018, together with other issues from the Election Law of BiH.

He noted that the SDA has never been for the division of Mostar.

“SDA fought for unified Mostar and for unified BiH. I do not know where these platitudes are even coming from. We are for equality of Bosniaks in Mostar and we will persist,” said Izetbegovic.

Izetbegovic, who is also the Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic and Prime Minister of the FBiH Fadil Novalic met in Mostar with representatives of SDA from a city and cantonal level, and a group of businessmen.

Prime Minister of the FBiH Fadil Novalic noted that the leadership of the SDA came to Mostar with representatives of leading companies, in order to see whether they can invest in Herzegovina.
