SDA president Bakir Izetbegović said that this party won more mayor’s seats in this year’s local elections than in the previous local elections.

“SDA won 26 mayoral positions in the last local elections, in these we won ten more and lost two, and we are in the plus for eight. In Una-Sana Canton we won Ključ, in Tuzla Canton Gradačac, Gračanica, Kalesija, Sapna, Kladanj and lost Banovići. So, out of 13 municipalities in Tuzla Canton, SDA won in Maglaj, Zavidovići and Žepče. Out of 12 municipalities in Zenica – Doboj Canton, SDA won in three quarters. In the Central Bosnian Canton, we have retained all five mayor positions,” said Izetbegović during his address at the SDA Headquarters.

He pointed out that in Posavina Canton, in Odžak, they expect victory after votes from abroad.

“In Velika Kladuša, a joint candidate supported by the SDA won. In Sarajevo Canton, we retained Hadžiće, Vogošće, Trnovo. The candidate in Novi Grad, whom we supported, won jointly. Unfortunately, we lost Ilijaš. In the Sarajevo municipalities, the SDA recorded a strong increase in the number of votes for the municipal councils. We don’t know the exact numbers yet. In Mostar and Brčko district, we still don’t have the final results. Unfortunately, we lost Srebrenica.
