SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said that SNSD won 47 municipalities out of 63 local communities in Republika Srpska and that it received 54.30 percent of the votes counted so far.

Dodik said that with the coalition they won four more municipalities – Pale, Krupa na Una, Stanari and Čajniče.

The municipalities that were held by the opposition – Brod, Sokolac, Ugljevik and Bileća, have now been won by the SNSD.

“It is important that we won in two municipalities in the Federation, Drvar and Glamoč,” said Dodik and added that this was a day of great success for SNSD.

The spokesman of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, Radovan Kovačević, said this evening in Banja Luka that this party has already won or has a convincing lead in 40 local communities in Republika Srpska, i.e. in more than 70 percent of local communities when it comes to the election for mayor or chief.

Kovačević listed those local communities, but when it comes to cities, he did not mention Banja Luka, for which there is still great uncertainty.

Among the cities where they achieved victory, Kovačević mentioned Prijedor and Trebinje, that is, in those cities, the majority of voters confirmed the mandates of the current mayors.

“I can say that the SNSD got mayorships that were not ours, namely Brod and Sokolac,” Kovačević added.
