The president of the Democratic Action Party (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović said today, after being re-elected as the president of the SDA at the Congress of this party, that the focus of the SDA remains on simple things – strengthening the state and its institutions, and strengthening the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“When it comes to the SDA itself, a transition should take place in the next four years. Therefore, the departure, so to speak, of the war generation, the politicians of my generation, and the transfer of the center of gravity and the weight of the work of the SDA and the problems that the SDA carries to a generation of people who are in full force. Therefore, I intend to dedicate myself to that, to open space, to affirm, to teach, to help young people to take on the burden of politics in BiH, which is not easy at all,” said Izetbegović.
In a statement to journalists, Izetbegović also commented on the latest events in Palestine and Israel.
“Of course, no one can stand behind what Hamas did. Attacking civilians, killing innocent people is condemned by our holy book. However, all this should be taken into account in the context of what has been done to the Palestinians for 80 years. Terrible ethnic cleansing, terrible war crimes are happening right now in Gaza. The world is watching and I am not an optimist and I am afraid that this could be the end of Palestine,” Izetbegović stated.
