Today’s search of the terrain and the search for the missing police officer and another person, who have been searched for since 27.03.2025., ended without results, announced the spokesperson for the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Canton of Tivat, Adnana Sprečić.

The search began today from 7 starting points, starting from the location of the Spreča River bed in the immediate vicinity of the so-called White Sea in the area of the city of Lukavac, and then along the Spreča River bed, downstream to Doboj.

A total of about 120 members of the police, civil protection and diving clubs participated in the search, namely: police officers of the Police Special Support Unit of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Canton of Tuzla, members of the Federal Civil Protection Administration (FUCZ) and the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration (KUCZ): Mountain Rescue Services Lukavac, Srebrenik, Gradačac and Tuzla, members of the Civil Protection Doboj and Doboj Istok, members of the Vidara Gradačac Diving Club and the Eco Diving Club Lukavac, as well as several citizens.

In cooperation with JP Spreča, the dam on the Modrac Lake reservoir was closed during the day.

“Tomorrow it will continue with a smaller number of personnel, mixed teams of the Police Special Support Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Canton of Tuzla will be in the field,” added Sprečić.

As a reminder, on March 28, at 10:30 a.m. in Tuzla, police officers from the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Tuzla attempted to stop a vehicle in Tuzla, after spotting a vehicle that was endangering other road users with its movement. During the stop, they spotted two men in the vehicle who were prone to committing criminal acts, who ignored the police officers’ order to stop and continued their movement, which is why the police officers followed them.

Upon arriving near the Novi Grad Elementary School, one person left the vehicle and continued to flee, entering the Jala Riverbed. However, due to the water level and strong current, he was in danger of drowning, which is why the police officers, intending to pull him out of the riverbed, followed him into the water, which began to carry them uncontrollably.

With the help of citizens, two police officers managed to get out of the water, while one police officer and the man who was fleeing were swept away by the rising water, and they are still being searched for, N1 writes.
