The Government of Japan has decided to provide grant aid amounting to 79,462 Euro (approx. 155,000 BAM) for equipping Mostar Bus with a bus. The Grant Contract was signed by Ambassador ITO Makoto and Mr. Damir Maric, the director of Mostar bus, on February 28, 2022 at Ambassador’s Residence in Sarajevo.

Mr. Mario Kordic, Mayor of Mostar, attended the ceremony and expressed his utmost gratitude for the help in realizing this new project through which the public city transport in Mostar will be greatly improved.

Ambassador Ito pointed out that, it is necessary to monitor how the provided mini bus is used in order to meet the needs of public transportation in Mostar, and emphasized that he sincerely hopes to continue the cooperation with Mostar in various fields.

Mostar Bus was established in 2002, and serves as the only public city transport in Mostar, the central city of Herzegovina with a large number of visitors from other cities and abroad throughout the whole year.

Through this grant assistance, Mostar bus will be able to provide better and timely transportation service, and around 110,000 citizens of Mostar and visitors to the city will directly benefit from it annually.
