25,000 Russian vaccines and 1,300 vaccines intended for Prijedor arrived in Republika Srpska today. The vaccines were received by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republika Srpska, Alen Seranic, in the warehouse of the company “Krajinagrup” in Banja Luka.

The vaccines are intended to continue immunization against Covid-19 in the RS. These are 25,000 Sputnik V vaccines and 1,300 vaccines for Prijedor, as a replacement for those that failed a few days ago due to a power outage and a cold chain break.

The Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska, Radovan Viskovic, said yesterday that a contingent of 80,000 Chinese vaccines is expected in May, and that RS will thus enter a more serious phase of vaccination.

Today’s series of Russian vaccines go to the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after which they will be distributed. Significant quantities of vaccines from the COVAX mechanism are expected to arrive in May.

So far, slightly more than 68,000 vaccines have arrived in RS.
