The Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Embassy of Japan held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of repair of the microfilming equipment which was provided and installed to the national archives of BiH from Japan in 2006.

For the purpose of contributing to historical and cultural studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Government of Japan decided to provide a grant in 2004. It was used for the supply of microfilm equipment and equipment for conservation to the Archive of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As those pieces of equipment started to exhibit malfunctions some years ago, the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested assistance for maintenance, and the Japanese government decided to implement follow-up cooperation in 2018, dispatching a technician from Japan to repair the equipment from Japan. The repair was completed on 22 February 2019.
