The Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Masami Kinefuchi, paid a farewell visit to Mayor Osman Ćatić , congratulating him on his new term as mayor.

The Ambassador also wished him success in his work, expressing hope that Konjic will continue its economic development in the future and have even better and more quality living conditions for its citizens.

“The Government of Japan, through UNDP, is involved in providing assistance to local communities affected by the recent floods, and we express our deep sympathy to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the families of those affected by the floods. Japan’s foreign policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina is based on our desire to help the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to support the reform and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path towards the European Union. In this context, we foster good cooperation with municipalities and cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The city of Konjic is special, it is a city symbol of our friendly relations, because it is here that we have the Tsubaki Nakashima company, which expanded its production capacities last year. We appreciate what the city of Konjic is doing to create conditions for economic development and investment in this area. We want to continue to develop cooperation between Konjic and Japan in the future, especially in the fields of economy and education, as well as in other areas of life and work”; emphasized, among other things, during his visit to Konjic, the Ambassador of Japan to BiH, Masami Kinefuchi.

Mayor Ćatić thanked the Japanese Ambassador for the visit, hoping that future cooperation will be as successful as it has been so far, and that positive experiences in the field of economy from the past period will be a good basis for continued contacts and meetings that the local community has with businessmen from Japan.
