Jewish Community in BiH gets its Representative in the Conference of European Rabbis

Amir Gross Kabiri, president of the Jewish community in Mostar, was recently elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Conference of European Rabbis (CER).

Over the past few years, Amir Gross Kabiri has been deeply involved in issues related to the Jewish community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the well-being of its members.

The Conference of European Rabbis – CER is the most powerful Jewish organization in Europe.

It was founded back in 1956 and closely cooperates with the World Jewish Congress.

By looking at the composition of the leadership, i.e. the Board of Directors of CER, you can see the strength of all the individuals who lead that organization.

Working with national and religious leaders across Europe, CER’s mission is to serve Jewish communities across Europe and to represent and protect the 1.7 million Jews currently living in Europe.

BiH and its Jewish communities have not been represented in the Conference of European Rabbis until now, and the appointment of Kabiri to the Board of Directors of this prestigious and influential European institution indicates his long-term intentions to continue engagement in the life of the Jewish and non-Jewish communities in BiH.
