Judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sena Uzunović has filed a criminal complaint against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik for false reporting and giving a gift or other forms of benefit, because after the verdict was pronounced, he said that a close relative of hers had come and asked for money for an acquittal, the judge confirmed to Detektor.
Uzunović tells Detektor that she filed a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH immediately after the first-instance verdict was pronounced, when Dodik was found guilty of disobeying the decisions of the High Representative in BiH, and after the media reported that the judge had asked him for money through a relative in order to issue an acquittal.
“Immediately after the verdict, I gave a statement as a witness for two people who threatened me via TikTok, who were in custody, and then I requested that a new KTA case be opened (unspecified criminal offense or perpetrator, but indicating an illegal act) and filed a complaint for false reporting through the media and for possibly giving a gift or other forms of benefit,” said Uzunović.
She says she filed a complaint against Dodik at the end of February with the prosecutor on duty, Igor Dubak, and that she does not know about the status of that complaint.
“Because I am neither aware of it, nor have I sent any of my family members. I asked for it to be investigated. If it is true, please check who he gave it to, if he did, and who was representing himself on my behalf because I have absolutely nothing to do with it. I stand behind that complaint and as far as I am concerned, if it is proven true that he gave money to someone on my behalf, and I have nothing to do with it, please let him be prosecuted, both the one who gave it and the one who received it, as the law requires,” emphasizes Uzunović.
Judge Uzunović issued a non-final verdict sentencing Dodik to one year in prison and six years of serving as president for disobeying the decisions of the High Representative.
Dodik was found guilty of taking action from 1 to 9 July 2023 in Banja Luka, knowingly and with knowledge that the High Representative Christian Schmidt had issued a decision preventing the entry into force of the Law on Non-Application of Decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH of 1 July of the same year, as well as the decision preventing the entry into force of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Publication of Laws and Other Regulations of the RS, with the aim of continuing the legislative procedure, without applying and not implementing the decisions of the High Representative.
Due to threats by Uzunović after the first instance verdict was pronounced, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested Marko Plavšić and Ljuban Jukić. They were then ordered to be detained for one month.
The Detector was unable to obtain a comment from Dodik’s lawyers, Goran Bubić and Ante Nobilo.
