The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, held a meeting in Sarajevo with the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Affairs, Kaja Kallas.

The official visit to Kallas, as stated in the statement, was an opportunity to continue the continuous dialogue at the highest level.

Chairperson Krišto informed Kallas about the achievements of the BiH Council of Ministers since the last meeting in April last year and the steps that have been taken.

“In addition to the political will and responsibility of all officials, a few more steps are needed to officially start the negotiations. The meeting also discussed other current events that will contribute to functionality and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the role of the international community. Like Bosnia and Herzegovina, which rests on the consensus of the three constituent nations and the achievement of sustainable agreements, such an approach by our international partners is also needed in our country,” they stated in a statement.

Events in the region and at the level of the European Union were also discussed.

“The enlargement process is one of the most important segments of the EU’s overall policies, which guarantees that Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to achieve the standard of the EU member states through reforms and integration processes.

The meeting concluded that continuous communication will continue in order to make the necessary strides and do everything to bring Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to full membership,” he said.
