Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, is participating in the Global Baku Forum, where she spoke during a panel dedicated to climate change and renewable energy sources. She expressed her satisfaction that she had the opportunity to present what the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is doing in that area, FENA reports from Baku.

Among other things, Karić emphasized the importance of cooperation between Sarajevo and Baku, which dates back to 1972, when the two cities signed a twinning agreement.

“Sarajevo and Baku signed a twinning agreement back in 1972. This is an opportunity to improve international cooperation and make various contacts. Azerbaijan is a friendly country and I think there is a lot of room for improving cooperation,” the Mayor of Sarajevo told FENA.

Karić also emphasized that Sarajevo was recently chosen as one of the hundred climate-neutral cities until 2030 and that global projects can and must be implemented at the local level.

“It was my pleasure to present what we in Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, in Sarajevo, are doing in this field,” said Karić.

She pointed out that the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a historical city and that it is not difficult to present it positively in the world and at events like this.
