5821c40fc2bfa1-73196626_1The Mayor of Zenica Fuad Kasumović assumed the mayor office today. He arrived to work with his private car, together with people from his election staff who helped him in the pre-election campaign, and in the press statement he announced changes and increased responsibility towards the citizens.

Kasumović arrived in front of the building of the city administration at 7:15 am, after which he headed towards the office in which the mayoral position was held by Husein Smailović for the past 12 years.

“First moves I will make are the meeting of the city college and discussion with heads of services. All employees in the city administration will have a lecture on what they should expect and then we will start working,” said Kasumović and added that everyone will have specific tasks.

When asked if the responsibility will increase after his entrance into the cabinet, Kasumović said that the responsibility must increase, primarily towards the citizens.

“All servants are there for the citizens, not for themselves. Every citizen will be able to report a servant via free phone, we will conduct internal controls, and I have dozens of thousands of people in the employment bureau who are there to replace them. Those who cannot fulfill their obligations can apply to the bureau,” said Kasumović.

In the end of his press statement given in front of the municipal building, journalists asked Kasumović how he feels, considering the fact that he is taking the place of his friend, the late Husein Smajlović. Kasumović said that he still does not feel anything but that the emotions will certainly stir up when he enters the office. He said he was born on March 20, on the day when the Day of Zenica is marked.

In the office, Kasumović had a meeting with the acting mayor of Zenica Selver Keleštura, who informed him about the changes that have been made in the mayor’s cabinet.
