Kick-off Conference of the EU funded project of support to the phytosanitary sector in BiH

eu-zastava-flagAll media are invited to cover the Kick-off Conference of the EU-funded twinning project “Further strengthening of capacities of phytosanitary sector in the fields of plant protection products, plant health and seed and seedlings, including phytosanitary laboratories and phytosanitary inspections”, which will take place on Tuesday, 24 February 2015, starting at 13:00hrs, at the EU Delegation to BiH, Skenderija 3a, in Sarajevo.

The planned activities of the project, whose goal is to strengthen the phytosanitary system in BiH in line with the EU standards, will be presented at the Conference. The project aims to assist BiH in increasing the competitiveness of plant products on the EU and international markets and ultimately to enhance the conditions and possibilities for export of these products.

Welcome remarks will be delivered Dr Renzo Daviddi, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the EU Delegation to BiH, Ruggero Corrias, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in BiH, Andrzej Krawczyk, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in BiH, Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Radenko Radović, Director of Administration for Plant Health Protection of BiH, Bruno Faraglia, Director at the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies and Jacek Zandarski from the Polish State Inspectorate for Plant Protection and Seed Inspection.

The project is financed by the EU from the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA 2012) to the tune of 1,5 million EUR. Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies is the lead institution from the EU Member State that implements the project in partnership with the State Plant Health and Seed Inspection Service of Poland, Polish Ministry for Agriculture and Rural Development, Informest from Italy, Research Institute of Horticulture from Poland as well as with the beneficiary institutions led by the Administration of BiH for Plant Health Protection.
