volleyballTEHRAN, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) — Igor Kolakovic will arrive in the capital Tehran on Monday to have negotiations with Iranian officials on coaching the country’s national volleyball team, Tasnim news agency reported on Saturday.

Iran Volleyball Federation has nominated the Serbian coach to lead the national squad in the upcoming international tournaments.
Kolakovic was the coach of the Serbia men’s national volleyball team and led the team at the 2006 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship and 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship.

Another Iran volleyball coach candidate, Radostin Stoychev of Bulgaria, left Tehran on Thursday after negotiating with the Iranian officials.
The Argentinean Raul Lozano’s contract with Iran Volleyball Federation expired in 2016.
Under Lozano, Iran finished in fifth place in the 2016 Olympic Games.
