Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Zeljko Komsic attended the 30th anniversary of the arrival of the First Independent Sokolac Battalion on the battlefield in Krusevo near Olovo.

On that occasion, Komsic addressed the gathered citizens.

”Thank you for the opportunity and honor to spend some time together today. I remember this unit from the war, from the moments that were great for BiH, from the moments when the Army of the Republic of BiH (ARBiH) set out to liberate its territory. What I have seen and witnessed when it comes to you is something worthy of great respect. In the Army of BiH, each unit was significant in its own way and each had its own role, and there were also units such as the Sokolac Independent Battalion, such as the Ilijas brigade, which were units composed of people who were expelled from of their hearths,” stated Komsic, it was announced from his cabinet.

He told the gathered that those people who brought the honor, are actually people who, together with others from the ARBiH and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RBiH, saved this country, people because of whom we can walk freely in our country today.

”Maybe it’s not the kind of country we imagined, but whatever it is, it’s ours. We can proudly say that we did the right thing for our families and for the citizens of BiH and for our homeland. We did not give up when it was more difficult than it is today, and then this is an opportunity to say that we will never surrender and we will never give up the fight for this country,”Komsic concluded.
