Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zeljko Komsic, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the breakthrough of detainees from the Ustasha concentration camp Jasenovac, today laid wreaths at the Donja Gradina Memorial Area and paid tribute at the memorial to innocent victims.
On that occasion, he said that even after so many years of horrific events, innocent victims must not be forgotten, because remembering the victims of the genocide and the Holocaust in World War II preserves the memory of them and teaches today’s generations what consequences the evil human mind can leave. and ideologies that begin with hatred, segregation, and intolerance.
“Unfortunately, although we thought that everything that happened in this place, but also in other places in the world, will be a warning, today we are watching new sufferings of innocent people. Fascism never sleeps, today it tries to overcome civilization again, and we we are obliged to prevent that. Anti-fascism is one of the fundamental values around which we must all gather, “Komsic said, according to the BiH Presidency.
