The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Zeljko Komsic, said that in the new geopolitical situation, specifically in the confrontation of two types of values, democratic and autocratic, BiH cannot afford such a luxury as experimenting with the election process.
”The election process, as the backbone of the democratic order of a state and society, must not be questioned in any case, especially when it comes to speculation about postponing the elections,” Komsic stated.
He believes that in this moment of confrontation between the two value systems, it is necessary to ensure the continuity of the election process in accordance with the Constitution of BiH.
”Any experimentation can only cause destabilization of both institutions and the country. BiH, above all, deserves to stabilize the overall social and political situation,” the chairman of the BiH Presidency explained.
In addition, Komsic points out that in the newly created global circumstances that cause anxiety, the continuity of the electoral process and the integrity of the democratic order are civilizational and generational responsibilities and a minimum contribution to stabilizing the situation in the region because only in that way it can one be on the right side, the Presidency of BiH announced.
