The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Zeljko Komsic, extended a cordial welcome to Ambassador Grannas, emphasizing that BiH and Germany have close political and cultural ties and rich economic cooperation in numerous areas.

He expressed gratitude for Germany’s strong support for the European perspective of BiH and for its commitment to continuing partnership cooperation and assistance, especially in the field of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Komsic emphasized that Germany is a very important country for BiH, not only because of developed bilateral relations and cooperation, but also because of its strong focus on reform and integration processes on the path toward full membership in the European Union (EU) and NATO.

In this context, he highlighted the significant role of the Berlin Process, which has the support of Western European countries and which can give an additional impetus to the process of BiH’s integration into the EU.

The newly appointed ambassador Alfred Grannas, in his address during the presentation of credentials, said that his intention during his mandate is to work on deepening friendly ties and the 30 years of long and fruitful bilateral cooperation. He reiterated the full support of the Federal Republic of Germany for the full membership of BiH in the EU and for the reform processes, for the benefit of all citizens of BiH.

At the end of the ceremony, the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Zeljko Komsic, wished the newly appointed ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in BiH, Alfred Grannas, a successful diplomatic mission, with the conviction that his mandate will contribute to the overall strengthening of political and bilateral relations and cooperation.
