Komsic: The Positions of the Embassy of Israel are contradictory

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zeljko Komsic, reacted to the letter from the Israeli Embassy, which states that the Croatian proposals for the Election Law are welcome. Komsic pointed out that the positions of the Israeli embassy contain several visible contradictions.

He points out that the first contradiction refers to the fact that Israel supports the equality of all citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a universal principle in all democratically governed countries.

“In the same statement, it is said that ‘legitimate representation’ is supported as an expression of the consociational political model, abandoned long ago in the world because it is based on systemically organized discrimination,” says Komsic.

The second contradiction relates to the fact that the proponents of consiciation in Bosnia and Herzegovina are those political actors whose policies are based on the denial of genocide, the glorification of war crimes and criminals, and the realization of the goals of adjudicated joint criminal enterprises, which Komšić emphasizes that he believes is not official policy. Israel.

“That’s why I call on the friendly country of Israel to remove the ambiguities that feed different ‘interpreters’ and clearly state whether the position is oriented towards the support of the equality of all citizens, including our fellow Jews in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a universal international principle, or is it, however, expressed support for additional ethnic divisions, strengthening of systemic discrimination and inequality of voice”, said the member of the BiH Presidency, Zeljko Komsic.

Komsic emphasized that BiH’s aspirations for membership in the NATO alliance and the European Union are guided by universal principles, while the policies of “consociations” and ethnic divisions distance them from these supranational organizations. For this reason, Komsic believes that clarifying Israel’s positions is very important.
