The President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik said today in Banja Luka that he discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković about harmonizing the law on foreign affairs.
“We will have a joint commission next week in order to reach an agreement because until now this area has not been regulated,” Dodik told reporters after the meeting with Konaković.
He said that RS has never had a problem with the southern gas connection and is ready to vote for this proposal, but this issue must not be conditioned by the eastern gas connection.
Konaković said that it is necessary for the governments of the Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to jointly implement significant projects.
Dodik added that an agreement was reached when it comes to the Law on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We agreed on the issue of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by having a joint commission on this issue next week. We appreciate the efforts of the minister to finally have a law that will regulate these issues. As for other issues, we have never made a problem with the Southern Interconnection, we are ready to vote for her when she is on the agenda of the BiH Council of Ministers,” said Dodik.
He then said that he and Konaković discussed what was already on the agenda, namely the donation of defensive helicopters by America. As he says, he has no problem discussing numerous issues and wants to get to know the details himself.
“We agreed that the EU with its policy is not stimulating here, in terms of maintenance and in accordance with the fulfillment of the will of the EU, and these relations must be redefined. Thanks to the minister, we will meet with Varhelyi and discuss all these issues, the EU is focusing on some other issues. I think we have a lot of reasons and a fairly even approach,” says Dodik.
Finally, he said that conditioning of any kind should be avoided and that this is the essence, Klix.ba reports.
