The Deputy President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of B&H Zlatko Lagumdžija talked today in Sarajevo with the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Buketn Arınc and introduced him to the current and most important political and economic events in B&H and about the current activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of B&H. He expressed his gratitude for the support of Turkey for B&H, especially in our attempts to become a member country of the EU and NATO. Lagumdžija also expressed his gratitude to Turkey for their support in the organization of trilateral meetings between Republic of Turkey, Croatia and B&H, as well as between Turkey, Serbia and B&H, as one of the steps towards establishing a better regional collaboration.

Speaking of economic collaboration of B&H and Turkey, Lagumdžija estimated that the intensity of visits on the high and the highest level does not reflect much in practice, especially in the economic field, and in that manner they have to invest more mutual effort, for which he believes there is enough interest. Lagumdžija also talked about several successful examples of Turkish companies that are doing business here in B&H, especially emphasizing the effort of the Company ”Cengiz” in the engagement in the construction of the Corridor 5-C. Lagumdžija also invited all Turkish companies to invest in the construction of parts of the Corridor 5-C and confirmed the interest of B&H for collaboration in energy projects, as in B&H and in Turkey, and the mutual performance in other countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister Arınc said that the primary goal of Turkish foreign policy is to secure the sovereignty of B&H and he expressed his wish for further development of bilateral relations, foremost economic, because as he claims, there is great interest of Turkish companies to invest in B&H.
