Larger Amounts of Water to be available to Citizens of Sarajevo?

water supply tip.baYesterday, a new well MB11 was opened at the source Bacevo. A well-drilling pump is installed in this well, which represents a donation of waterworks of Istanbul and it is installed at a depth of 19 meters, the power of this engine is 80 kw, which resulted in additional 45 l/s within the system.

“I would like to thank the waterworks of Istanbul for donated hydraulic equipment and part of the electrical energy equipment with which we managed to put a well that was out of service for a long time into full operation, and there are still many projects between two waterworks that will result in a stabilization of the water supply of Canton Sarajevo. Donated equipment has great financial value and this represents a significant help on our path that we like to call ‘Sarajevo without water reductions’,” said Nezir Hadzic, Director of PUC Water and Sewerage Ltd Sarajevo.

According to preliminary agreements, this is only the first phase of works, which will be continued in the future period.

“This equipment has high quality and it will greatly contribute to the stabilization of the water supply of Canton Sarajevo. These 45 liters per second, which our system gets with a new well, are very important for the water supply of Canton Sarajevo and they represent a great help from the waterworks of Istanbul,” said Esvada Kamenica from the PUC Water and Sewerage Ltd.
