The best BiH’s athlete, Larisa Ceric, will participate in the elite Masters tournament in Chinese Guangzhou next weekend.

In total, there will be 16 best-ranked judo players who have the right to compete in the final tournament.

Ceric will try to repeat the success in China last year when she won the third place and thus finished another brilliant season in which she won silver and bronze at the European and World Championships.

“Last year I was third in this tournament and I hope I can repeat that success. The season was tiring, I had a performance in five or six tournaments recently, I feel well, have the confidence and hope that I will be able to come up with a chance to fight for the medal, possibly to come to the finals or try to be the first,”said Ceric.

The only BiH’s representative at the tournament in the toughest women’s category of over 78 kg currently occupies a high third place, although most of the season she was in the leading position.

The first place is taken by Japanese Sarah Asahina with 6800 points, the second is an athlete from Cuba, Idalyis Ortiz with 5760, while Ceric is on the third place with 5630 points.

There will be 234 judo players from 53 countries participating in the Masters Tournament.

Larisa, had won the “Athlete of 2017” award, continued to shine this year with a bronze at the world championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, a silver at the European championship in Tel Aviv, Israel, a gold at the Grand Slam in Ekaterinburg, Russia, and a silver in Antalya, Turkey.

“This is a year of my dreams, I have won lots of medals and for some time, I was the first on the world ranking list. This is a great honor and I have to thank everyone who helped me to achieve this result,” Ceric said.
