Last Year, more than 1.9 Million Tourists visited BiH

In the period January – December 2025, tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina made 1,963,443 visits, which is 0.3 percent more than in the previous year 2024. Domestic tourists made 0.2 percent more visits compared to 2024, while foreign tourists made 0.4 percent more visits compared to the previous year.

In the period January – December 2025, tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina had 4,083,977 overnight stays, which is 1.0 percent more than in 2024. Domestic tourists achieved 1.4 percent more overnight stays compared to the same period in 2024, while the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists was 0.9 percent higher compared to the same period of the previous year. In the total number of overnight stays, the participation of domestic tourists was 29.7 percent, while the participation of foreign tourists was 70.3 percent.

According to the BiH Statistics Agency, in the period January-December 2025, Bosnia and Herzegovina recorded a stable increase in tourist traffic, and the most overnight stays among foreign tourists were made by tourists from Croatia, with a share of 14.1 percent in the total number of overnight stays by foreign tourists.

In second and third place are tourists from Serbia (10.9 percent) and Turkey (9.7 percent), which confirms the continuous growth of overnight stays. Tourists from Slovenia took fourth place with a participation of 5.9 percent, while tourists from Saudi Arabia accounted for 5.6 percent of overnight stays.

Among the more important emission markets are Germany with 4.4 percent and China with 3.8 percent share in the total number of overnight stays. Tourists from the United States accounted for 3.4 percent, while tourists from Italy accounted for 3.1 percent of the total overnight stays by foreign tourists. The mentioned countries together account for 60.9 percent of the total number of overnight stays by foreign tourists, while tourists from other countries accounted for the remaining 39.1 percent of overnight stays.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was realized within the Hotels and similar accommodation sector with a participation of 93.7 percent.
