Russia is ready to resolve the conflict in Ukraine peacefully, but the West and Kiev are fixated on the unacceptable “peace formula” of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“Russia is open to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. However, our opponents in Kiev and in the West are fixated on the implementation of Vladimir Zelensky’s formula in which Moscow was issued an unacceptable ultimatum and in which other initiatives, including the one launched by Brazil, are rejected,” Lavrov said. in an interview with the Brazilian newspaper “Globo”.

He said that Kiev must first lift the ban on dialogue with Moscow, which he imposed on himself, TASS reported.

“We appreciate Brazil’s willingness to help find a political, diplomatic solution. Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva proposed the “formation of a group of friends for a solution.” We are carefully following the initiative of Brazilian friends,” Lavrov added.

Lavrov arrived in Brazil to attend the Group of 20 meeting.
