Following information that an Intelligence and Security Agency car had escaped from the police in Ljubuški in February of this year, and that OSA Chief Inspector Damir Bevanda was in the vehicle, his lawyer reacted, stating that this was a staged photograph and that his client had not escaped from the police.

Namely, on February 1, an OSA vehicle refused to stop at a police light, which the ZHK Police Directorate informed OSA about in a letter dated February 5.

“On February 1, 2025, at 9:13 p.m., while working on traffic control in the town of Mostarska Vrata, Ljubuški, in the immediate vicinity of the Kiwi Sport business building, from the direction of Ljubuški in the direction of Čitluk, an Audi vehicle, black in color, registration number A28-A-918 comes across, which a police officer stops with a light stop baton and pronounced stop signs, but does not stop, but turns on the rotating lights on his vehicle and continues to move in the direction of Čitluk. Upon inspection of the IDDEEA database, it was determined that the owner of the vehicle is OSA BiH, and it is necessary that they report to us regarding the failure to stop at the above-mentioned time, and deliver the same to us via regular mail to our address,” it was stated.

It was unofficially confirmed to the editors of Klix.ba that immediately after this letter, Bevanda admitted to OSA director Almir Džuvo that he did not stop for the police and that he only turned on the rotations. However, Inspector Bevanda’s lawyer claims in his denial that his client was not even stopped by the police.

“Our client Mr. Bevanda was in Ljubuški on February 1, 2025. At 9:13 p.m. or at any other time, the police officers of the ZHK MUP did not signal our client to stop,” the lawyer states.

In addition to the failure to stop the police, suspicions have also been expressed that Zoran Galić was in the vehicle, and the lawyer firmly denies this and clarifies that the photograph, which suggests that the former deputy director of SIPA is in the passenger seat, and which was published by the Istraga.ba portal, is actually a montage.

“Mr. Zoran Galić was not in the vehicle. The photo below the paragraph was not taken on February 1. There was no one in the passenger seat at the time the photo was taken by the ‘Renata’ traffic surveillance system… The photo was taken on February 8, 2025 at 3:19 p.m. The following markers-parameters were used to analyze and determine the actual date of the photo: the specific position of the driver’s fingers on the steering wheel and the shadows of vehicles and objects. In the Renata system, only the image from the specified day and time matches the vehicle in question, according to the analyzed markers,” states lawyer.

He then explained in detail how the photo was manipulated.

“A photo published on the web-portal dnveno.ba on February 9, 2017 on the occasion of a security conference held in mid-November 2016 in Zagreb was added to the existing photo of the vehicle from February 8, 2025. The photo was taken almost nine years ago. My client has aged in the meantime. His hair and beard are not as dark as in this photo that was used for the photomontage. Furthermore, the sun’s glare is visible on my client’s head from the opposite side of the one on which The sun is. In the top photo from the conference, the glare, which manipulators, is clearly visible, as it is the above-mentioned conference. The last important fact is that 1.2.2025. at 18 hours, 41 minutes and 45 seconds. The sun was in 17:00 hours, and 5.2.2025. at 17:07. So 1.2. The sun set in Ljubuški at 5:01 p.m.,” says the lawyer, pointing out that such a photo of the vehicle and passengers could not have been taken in the dark.
