Leaders of the ‘Coalition of Three’ in a Stalemate

The meeting of the ruling coalition in Konjic at the state level did not bring any positive progress. Attitudes are completely different. Disappointment is clearly visible among representatives of the Coalition of Three. Everyone is announcing their legal battles. And ahead of the meeting on the most important issues for the state, Milorad Dodik continued to ridicule state institutions. Given the absence of any reaction, it is no longer surprising to many.

Dodik will not back down even a millimeter. This is clear even after yesterday’s three-hour meeting. What’s more, playing with state institutions, the international community, and coalition partners continues. He filed a criminal complaint against himself with the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

“And now I will organize that everyone from the Republika Srpska (RS) report to the Prosecutor’s Office that there are one, two, three hundred thousand cases, so since no one here from the Federation has the courage to report me, I thought it was very polite to help people. Let them call me, but after that we will pass a law that will not protect me, I did it for this reason so that when we pass that law tomorrow, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Court will not work in RS, so that they can’t say Dodik is protecting himself. I’m not protecting myself, I’m going to the process, I’m going to the process, let them call, let’s see,” said Dodik.

He did not answer the question of how he plans to prevent the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), the Prosecutor’s Office, the Court of BiH from operating in RS, and he is quite sure that he will not withdraw the decision on non-application of the decisions of the Constitutional Court. In a volley of insults to the United States (U.S.), the British ambassador and high representative, Dodik said that the more foreigners there are, there is less country.

His position on the expulsion of foreign judges from the Constitutional Court was supported, as expected, by Dragan Covic. Through a statement in which he said nothing, he said everything, not even once answering specifically the question of whether he considers the latest actions of the National Assembly to be the destruction of the Dayton Agreement.

“I am not here to support something or not, these are the constitutional realities of BiH. I also told my colleagues very clearly, this is my homeland, I respect the Constitution and that is the only measure and framework. It doesn’t matter howdifferently would I organize BiH, or each of us, it has its own Dayton framework and I respect it until we get a different environment”, stressed the HDZ president.

Niksic, Forto, Konakovic are in a stalemate. They can’t give up on the coalition, nor accept, as they claim, the overthrow of the constitutional order. They will fight against the decisions of the National Assembly through legal means and rely on foreigners.

“In the end, it remains that everyone will fight their own legal battle to find a solution, we have certainly said that before, the red line is an attack on state institutions, we are not ready to cross it for anyone and we are not ready to tolerate it for anyone. Certainly, we will continue these talks as well”, emphasizes Nermin Niksic, president of the SDP.

“We have two models, one is to block and fight for BiH, and the other is to work and fight. What we could do in the blockade, submit appeals to the Constitutional Court, talk to the international community, high representative, we can do it by working or sitting. I can earn my salary while sitting and I will get it, unfortunately, even though the Council of Ministers is blocked, but Brcko will not get that bridge that is waiting for a long time and a number of other activities that should take place at the Council of Ministers, that’s where the difference is essential”, adds Elmedin Konakovic, president of People and Justice – Narod i Pravda (NiP).

During the meeting, part of the delegation of the Coalition of Three verbally clashed with the SNSD. The Helez – Dodik fightended with an apology from both sides. The Coalition of Threesays “we thought that the colleagues with whom we decided to form the government were at a higher level of consciousness”. It seems that they are not.

“The way in which decisions are made in a cultural dialogue is as important as the decisions that are made. Today we didn’t witness that, today we witnessed bragging, rudeness, insults and everything that we don’t want to participate in the way that some people think it might be normal”, Forto revealed yesterday.

For the leaders of the Coalition of Three, SNSD’s demands are unacceptable, and especially those regarding national decision-making in the Constitutional Court. Konakovic repeated his earlier position that he wishes for a country without foreigners, including the Constitutional Court, but that now is not the time for that, N1 reports.
