Lendo: The process should objectively proceed according to how the Citizens gave Electoral Trust

So far, there are no indications that the three appointed members of the executive power of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina could hold a meeting soon regarding the formation of the post-election convocation of the FBiH Government, FBiH Vice President Refik Lendo told FENA.

“The 30-day deadline is running and the three of us need to meet, not only the three of us but also the political parties, we are representatives of Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs, but at the same time also citizens and certain political parties. That part remains to be defined for the next month,” he said.

“This part of the ‘troika’ tries in some way to shift the blame, only they want to remain in the center of democracy, however, the democracy they are talking about and in what way, I don’t think it will be able to realize. They turn to other people instead we turn to each other and try to find a solution. Everything that will be resolved by the high representative or someone else will be a violation of democracy. Well, it remains to be seen how it will be. So far there are no indications,” Lendo answered the question of whether a meeting on the formation of the FBiH Government can be expected soon.

He further stated that the process should objectively proceed according to how the citizens gave electoral trust to the political parties, according to the constitutional provisions and the current situation.

The citizens expressed their will in the elections, the current situation calls for talks because SDA, SDP and HDZ cannot run away from the situation as it is, Lendo believes.

Three members of the leadership of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – president Lidija Bradara (Croat Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Vice-Presidents Refik Lendo (Party of Democratic Action) and Igor Stojanović (Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina) were appointed to the aforementioned positions in the new post-election mandate by a recent decision of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament.

The three of them previously had the opportunity to mutually determine who would be the president, but since there was no agreement, the dilemma was resolved by the said intervention of the House of Representatives.

The functions of the president and two vice presidents of the Federation of BiH are very important in the process of forming the post-election convocation of the FBiH Government.

Namely, the president formally proposes a prime minister-designate to the Parliament, but he/she cannot do so without the consent or signature of both vice presidents, Fena reports.
