The Let’s Do It team organized large afforestation and tree planting actions throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina this year.

This year, the afforestation action under the name of the project “Let’s Do It – A million seedlings in one day” was held on October 21 at five locations.

“The afforestation campaign was held in five locations – Igman, Bijeljina, Srebrenica, Donji Vakuf and Bosanska Krupa, and all actions were held on the same day, October 21. Although the weather was bad at all locations and the conditions for planting were difficult, our hardworking volunteers did not give up and the afforestation campaign was completed according to plans, said Adis Poturović, spokesperson of the Citizens’ Association “Ruke”, which runs the Let’s Do It project, to Fena news agency.

At the Igman location, 1,500 white pine seedlings were planted, and in total in Bosnia and Herzegovina more than 3,000 white pine, maple and oak seedlings were planted.

This year was also marked by afforestation in the spring (location Igman), where 2,000 white pine seedlings were planted.

Poturović points out that everyone who has the desire to help planet Earth participates in all their actions, as well as in all projects.

“The organization in the cities takes place with the help of our local teams, and the volunteers are all associations, organizations, companies, informal groups of citizens and everyone interested in our projects,” Poturović said.

The primary goal of the “Let’s Do It – One Million Seedlings in One Day” project is to protect the environment with a new million seedlings and create forests as a special specific ecosystem.

“Our goal is to carry out the decarbonization process with these actions, because we know that this is the best way to reduce the harmful CO2 gas, and our goal is to unite as many non-governmental sectors as possible, because together we can achieve great changes. At our events, there is a good mood, a smile on your face and the opportunity to meet new positive people,” said Poturović.

The Let’s do it team in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been carrying out reforestation actions for many years. In more than 10 years, 475,716 seedlings of various types of trees were planted, Fena reports.
