The Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karic, and the Mayor of Stari Grad municipality, Ibrahim Hadzibajric, visited the General Hospital yesterday morning, where they presented gifts on the occasion of the birth of the first baby in this hospital in 2022.
With congratulations to mother Samka Hasibovic, who gave birth to a healthy boy named Vedad yesterday at 7:10 a.m., Mayor Hadzibajric and Mayor Karic donated 500 BAM to the baby.
Given that since December 24th, due to the appearance of the omicron strain virus, visits to all clinics within the Sarajevo University Clinical Center (KCUS) have been banned, it was not possible to visit the mother at the KCUS Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic, which was the first to give birth in 2022. (to twins).
However, as announced by Chief Hadzibajric, no baby will be forgotten and gifts are ready for everyone who was born on New Year’s Eve (after midnight or by the end of January 1st).
“All babies born in Sarajevo on January 1st will receive our congratulations and monetary gifts. We decided to make the gloomy everyday life and the beginning of this year a little better and to make it easier for their parents. We gave 500 BAM to the first-born baby and mother, hope they spend it on health and joy, and all other babies, regardless of which municipality they belong to at birth, will receive 300 BAM from the Municipality of Stari Grad, ” emphasized Mayor Hadzibajric.
Mayor Karic congratulated the happy mother, as well as the doctors and medical staff of the General Hospital, and wished them a happy start to 2022.
“This is the most beautiful way to start a year and a new chapter in the life of a family that got a child. I congratulate the parents from the bottom of my heart and wish that their boy, like all other babies, have a happy and carefree childhood. I would like to point out that as soon as possible, we will donate twin babies who were born last night at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics at the KCUS, immediately after leaving the hospital, “Mayor Karic stated yesterday.
To recall, twins were born in Sarajevo yesterday two hours after midnight at the KCUS, and thus became the first babies born in 2022 in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
“The first babies were born on January at 1:55 a.m. and 1:56a.m. These are twin boys,” the KCUS confirmed.
