Argentine soccer player and Inter Miami player Lionel Messi is the winner of the International Football Federation (FIFA) award for the best soccer player in the world for 2023.
In the selection for the best football player in the world for last year, apart from Messi, there were also Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who won the domestic championship, cup and UEFA Champions League last year with the English club, was declared the best coach.
Spanish national team member Aitana Bonmati (Barcelona) was declared the best soccer player. Bonmati led the Spanish national team to win the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
The best goalkeeper in the FIFA selection is the Brazilian Ederson (Manchester City), while the Englishwoman Mary Earps (Manchester United) won the women’s competition.
The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony was held in London.
The aforementioned award is awarded by FIFA based on the opinion of national team selectors and captains, journalists and fans from all over the world.
