Waste is Taste, in cooperation with Association MLAZ, invites you to the third eco-design workshop of recycled Fashion Waste is Taste, which will be held from the 22nd to the 26th of July, in the city of Počitelj, B&H.
This year’s workshop will be all about paper; designers will be presented with a challenge to provide a new use-value to old discarded papers (magazines, newspapers, flyers, catalogs, packaging waste, etc.) by creative recycling.
Aim of this workshop is to offer the possibility of creating and recycling in an inspirational premises of Association MLAZ to designers from all over the Europe, where they will have the opportunity to create on open. Prof. mr. Salih Teskeredžić, product designer from Academy of Fine Arts, will be available for consultation and advice during the workshop to all participating designers.
This way, despite the fact that we are talking together about our social paradigms, we are establishing cooperation of Designers at national, regional and European level as well.
During the three-day long workshop, each participant needs to make one complete outfit: a dress or outfit consisted of top and bottom part which can be worn together as a whole.
All the outfits created on the workshop will be presented at the exhibition in the garden of the Association for the promotion of cultural creativity “Mlaz”.
Workshop’s Program:
22nd of July: Arrival, a tour and exploring the working space
23rd of July: Introduction to the topic and approaches that will be used in the workshop, presentation of their own ideas and ways of realization (model development) until 11 am, and starting to work and create
24th of July: working, creating
25th of July: working, creating; 6 pm – setting up of the exhibition, which will be open in the early evening
26th of July: going home
Organizers of the event will cover the costs of accommodation and the food, as well as provide all the necessary materials for work, while participants are required to cover the costs of transportation.
The workshop will be accompanied by a photographer, who will be taking photos of the entire working and creating process, the resulting work and the exhibition. All the works will be published in a catalog, which will be distributed to all participants afterwards. The creations will remain in the possession of Waste is Taste and will be presented at exhibitions and performances later on.
All interested for collaboration should send their CVs and at least three photos of their past works until the 1st of June. Names of the chosen candidates will be announced on our Facebook page, and all who applied will be informed via e-mail.
