Students of the high school in Gračanica “Dr. Mustafa Kamarić” have been trying for several years to experience their love for classical music and great composers who have left behind top opera works.
Sixty travelers, among which are more than 50 high school students from Gračanica, will depart for a real winter journey called ‘Opera Marathon’. For six days, they will travel through five European metropolises to watch top five performances.
Professor of German language at the high school ‘Dr. Mustafa Kamarić’, who also leads the ‘Opera Club’ Jasmin Mujkić told Anadolu Agency that high school students from Gračanica watched the opera earlier in Zagreb, Vienna, Belgrade, Mannheim, Budapest, Novi Sad and Prague.
‘’In Sarajevo five to six years ago, ‘Blind Mice’ by Johann Strauss was performed. 20 of us went to see the opera, and this was a huge sensation and exciting’’, as Mujkić began the story of opera lovers from this small town in B&H. He said that three years ago they went to Prague and watched Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’.
‘’The repertoire is now expanding, and so we decided to try to have more serious travels and to organize now an Opera Marathon’’, explained Mujkić.
According to him, interest in opera and travel has been progressively increasing.
