Lower Prices for 300 Medications in the RS

lijekoviIn the RS, around 300 medications are on the list for prescription issuance, covered by the Health Insurance Fund. The medications are cheaper by approximately 14,5%.

The following medications are jus some that are cheaper: medications for heart diseases, diabetes type 2, osteoporosis, depression, chronic obstructive lungs disease and eye pressure.

According to the Fund, during the negotiations with pharmaceutical companies, they managed to decrease the prices for around 37 generic medications. However, in total there are 215 medications on the lists, which means that there are more than 1300 commercial names on the list.

This is the third time in the last 2 years that the Fund manages in its negotiations with pharmaceutical companies to lower the prices of medicaments.

The Fund reminds that last year, there were around 400 medications containing commercial names, and their prices were lowered by 17% on average.

The expense of the Fund in the last year was around 66.9 million BAM and it is less by around 9% in comparison with 2012.
