As part of the commemoration of July 27 – the Day of the Uprising of the People of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 75 years of activity of SABNOR BiH, there was a laying of flowers at the “Vraca” Memorial Park.
The flowers were laid by representatives of the anti-fascist association, SABNOR, and cantonal, city and municipal authorities, and at the same place, as part of the marking of the Day of the Uprising of the People of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a formal reception, an appropriate presentation on the importance of the uprising, and a ceremonial concert by the Armed Forces Orchestra will be held.
The Day of the Uprising of the People of Bosnia and Herzegovina is marked as the anniversary of the armed action that was carried out on July 27, 1941 by the guerrilla units of the Bosnian Krajina.
At the invitation and organization of the KPJ, a nationwide anti-fascist uprising began in BiH on July 27 with an armed attack by the insurgents on Drvar and Bosansko Grahovo, which were liberated from the Home Guard and the Gendarmerie on the same day. That date was taken as the Day of Uprising of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the occupiers, i.e. fascism.
At a time when the fundamental values of the insurgents from 81 years ago are again threatened, this is the right moment to call on all Bosnians and Herzegovinans to be inspired by the determination of the insurgents from 1941 and today, through democratic means, to regain the denied freedoms, equality and social justice, they said from SABNOR on the occasion of marking that date.
