After the three-day spectacle at the Koševo stadium, which gathered a record 200,000 visitors in our city, Mayor Samir Avdić hosted a reception for BiH singer-songwriter Dina Merlin today in the City Hall.
Sarajevo’s musical wizard, winner of the “6th of April Award of the City of Sarajevo”, made the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina the topic of not only regional but also European guests and media.
“Sarajevo and the citizens of this city are extremely proud, but also grateful,” said Mayor Avdić, with sincere congratulations to the BiH artist on his historic success and contribution to his hometown.
Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Dino Merlin said:
“Sarajevo has been breathing a special rhythm these days. The city was filled with life and positive energy. Many have told me that the atmosphere reminded them of the Olympic days – a time of togetherness, pride and strong emotions. And, as a friend of mine often says – emotions are the most valuable currency today. That is why I am immensely grateful and proud, first of all of my wonderful audience, without whom none of this would be possible, but also of my team, band and all the people who, with their knowledge, dedicated work and dedication, have created the conditions for months to jointly organize a magnificent musical and production event that, I believe, will long remain in the memory of Sarajevo and all who were a part of it.”
Finally, Mayor Avdić emphasized that Dino Merlin once again showed that music has the power to connect people, inspire generations and make Sarajevo a place of meeting, togetherness and host of events that the whole world is talking about.
