Yesterday on Bascarsija square, the mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karic, met with citizens with whom she shared the joy of Eid al-Fitr.

In addition to talking to the citizens, Karic also distributed baklava, and on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the mayor emphasized that joy should be shared with fellow citizens.

“I shared the joy and blessing of Eid al-Fitr with my fellow citizens, with baklava on Bascarsija square. There is nothing more beautiful than our rich tradition and human warmth. I wish from the bottom of my heart that success, health and happiness accompany us all through life,” said Karic.

The mayor of the capital sent an official greeting a little earlier, where she congratulated Eid al-Fitr to Muslim citizens.

“My dear Muslim women and men, Sarajevo women and men, I sincerely congratulate you on Eid al-Fitr, wishing you to spend it in peace and joy, in family and friendship. Eid is the crown of the Ramadan fast, which refreshed the mind with beautiful and healthy thoughts, cleansed body and heart, refined character and faith in the grace of patience, perseverance and solidarity. Let’s not forget our old and sick, nor those who are in trouble and for whom our help and attention can be a great relief and comfort. May your Eid Mubarak days pass in good and blessed time, with a heart full of our beloved Sarajevo and homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Be healthy, happy and at peace,” said Karic, Klix.ba reports.
