OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić received today the Ambassador of Austria to BiH Donatus Kock, who congratulated the mayor on his appointment.

“Austria, together with the sister city of Innsbruck and the cities of Vienna, Linz and Graz, are closely tied to Sarajevo. The cooperation is very meaningful in the area of education, culture, tourism and sport, and there is interest to open a new chapter in the intensive friendly partner relations’’, said Ambassador Kock.

The Austrian Ambassador stressed the importance of the project “Sarajevo-Bridge of Cultures of Europe 2014”, which the whole world will watch in Sarajevo. He said that the high symbolism of this event has to be used to send a message of peace from the capital of BiH.

“The city of Graz, which was the European capital of culture in 2003, intends to give full support to these two projects: an exhibition of Franz Ferdinand and the organization of the summer university of Sarajevo 2014’’, said the Ambassador, and expressed satisfaction that the Vienna philharmonic will open the Sarajevo City Hall with a concert on 28 June 2014.

Mayor Komšić welcomed the readiness of Austria to be included in this project, which has unanimous support from international officials and ambassadors with who he met in the last period.
