The Chairman of the City Council of the City of Sarajevo Igor Gavric met with the Mayor of Ohrid, Konstantin Georgeski, who presented the gold coin award of the City of Sarajevo.

The meeting discussed the possibility of twinning the Municipality of Ohrid with the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, and then discussed regional projects, as well as problems faced by the two cities during the visit of more tourists.

Attention was also drawn to the issues facing the Municipality of Ohrid following the UNESCO proposal to put the cultural and natural heritage of the Ohrid region on the list of endangered world heritage.

UNESCO recommended that the authorities should take action, including a detailed analysis of the situation in the region, as well as the restoration of the collector system. The experience was exchanged on the subject, with particular reference to the reconstruction of the collector system.
