The Spokesperson of the European Union Delegation to BiH Andy McGuffie confirmed to Fena Agency that open talks between the EU Delegation with representatives of political parties in the BiH Parliament on implementing the “Sejdić – Finci” ruling are continuing. He noted “there is not one particular solution that is favored”.

These talks began at the beginning of February with the goal of reach credible progress by the end of this month in solving the issue of implementing the “Sejdić – Finci” ruling.

“As long as BiH leaders do not reach a mutual solution on this issue, the road of BiH to the EU will be frozen. There will not be a ‘special arrangement’ for the country. As long as BiH has aspirations for EU membership, it must follow a defined process as everyone else’’, said McGuffie.

Also, last year it was announced that this week leaders of the four parties of the new parliamentary majority in the FBiH will meet, and that “Sejdić – Finci” has to be one of the main topics.

However, McGuffie said that he is not aware of the information that this type of meeting is being organized under the auspices of the EU delegation and Special EU Representative in BiH.
