During his stay in the US, a delegation of the BiH Ministry of Defense and the BiH Armed Forces, led by Minister of Defense Zekerijah Osmić, will meet with the Secretary of Defense of the US Chuck Hagel.
The Ambassador BiH to the US Jadranka Negodić will attend this meeting as well as Acting Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces General Major Anto Jeleč, Acting Commander of the Operational Command of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Dragan Vuković, Assistant Minister of Defense for International Cooperation Zoran Šajinović and the Military Attaché of BiH to the US Colonel Bozo Skopljaković.
They will discuss the priorities of the Ministry of Defense of BiH in the next period.
In this regard, the BiH Minister of Defense will speak to the US Secretary of Defense on the realization of the program led by the Ministry of Defense and BiH Armed Forces as part of the cooperation and partnership with NATO, on current activities of defense institutions of BIH that are being realized on the path to Euro Atlantic integration, as well as bilateral cooperation with the US on the successful 10-year cooperation and realization of the state partnership program of BIH and Maryland.
They plan to discuss the fulfillment of the conditions for activating NATO Action Plan, participation of members of Armed Forces in the ISAF Mission, improving the capacity and methods of destruction of stimulus weapons, and the continuation of the reform process of the Armed Forces with special reference to the document “Overview of Defense”, announced the BiH Ministry of Defense.
