The President of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Zlatko Lagumdžija spoke yesterday in Sarajevo with the Ambassador of the US Patrick S. Moon on the current situation in BiH and the political processes currently underway.

They exchanged ideas on the activities of finding a solution for the implementation of the “Sejdić-Finci against BiH”.

Lagumdžija stressed the importance of the agreement in BiH on harmonization, drafting and adoption of constitutional changes that would ensure full constitutional and institutional equality for all BiH citizens.

In doing so, he pointed out that the issue of amending the Constitution is not exclusively a matter solely for the government or for the opposition, but for all those who are truly committed to our country to obtain EU candidate status.

Speaking on the necessary prerequisites for BiH to make a step towards NATO membership, President Lagumdžija said he expects the solution of the issue of military property as soon as possible, and to be in accordance with the earlier achieved agreement respecting the decisions of the BiH Constitutional Court.

They agreed that integration of BiH into NATO is not only an issue of security, but is also an important issue for further economic development of the country.
