A meeting will be held today in Novi Grad regarding the construction of a radioactive waste disposal site on Trgovska Gora, which will be attended by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Staša Košarac.

The Mayor of Novi Grad, Miroslav Drljača, previously told Srna news agency that the results of the work of the Coordination Body, Expert and Legal Team will be discussed at the meeting, which was initiated by Košarac, and future directions of action will also be discussed.

Drljača said that, in addition to Košarc, the meeting is expected to be attended by BiH Minister of Security Nenad Nešić, Minister for Human Rights and Refugees Sevlid Hurtić, Republika Srpska Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology Bojan Vipotnik, and Federation of BiH Minister of Ecology and Tourism Nasiha Pozder .

According to Drljača, mayors and heads of local communities in the Una river basin were invited to the meeting.

Croatia plans to store radioactive waste from the “Krško” Nuclear Power Plant as well as existing institutional waste on Trgovska gora in the municipality of Dvor, right on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
