Josip Juratović, member of the German Bundestag, is arriving today on a three-day visit to B&H, where he will be in Sarajevo and Tuzla to meet with high ranking representatives of various parties and with representatives of civil society.
The focus of the discussions will be on the current protests, the crisis of government as well as European integration of B&H, announced the German Embassy in B&H.
On Sunday, 16 February, Juratović will hold a press conference in the lobby of the German Embassy (EU Delegation building in Skenderija).
Juratović was born in 1959 in Koprivnica, Croatia, and has been living in Germany since 1974. Since 2005, he has been a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SDP), is a member of the German Bundestag and represents the constituency of Heilbronn (wider area of Stuttgart). He is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development.
He has been engaged in the relations between Germany and B&H for a long time, and he visited B&H in 2013.
Commenting in one January address on the region of the Western Balkans, he said: ‘’I will do everything to strengthen democratic forces in these countries and to break with the return of nationalism with the help of strengthening European and international cooperation.
