Member of BiH Presidency called Schmidt’s decisions “dictatorial”

BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović reacted to the decision of High Representative Christian Schmidt to impose technical changes to the Election Law.

“Whenever the representatives of the people in BiH take a step forward, Schmidt takes us back three times. This is a slap to the democratic process and the European path of BiH, and a slap to the EU,” Cvijanović believes.

She indicated that “Schmidt, together with his mentors and principals, is consciously collapsing the EU’s credibility in BiH with dictatorial decisions.”

He believes that it is unheard of that “an unelected foreigner imposes the decisions of any member of the UN, especially in a country that is on the threshold of starting negotiations with the EU”.

“This will result in an additional complication of the political situation in BiH, which was obviously Schmidt’s idea. The intention is to cause chaos and show that the two parties are not BiH and the EU. But those who manage Schmidt want to show that the EU is also their colony and unfortunately, they succeeded in that, and not by pinching and pushing in the side or in the back, but with a fist to the forehead. So much for euphoria and negotiating status,” said the member of the BiH Presidency.
