Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović received today the Commander of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Major General Anton Wessely. He expressed his gratitude for EUFOR’s cooperation with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as local communities and law enforcement authorities.

In this context, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of the new Agreement on Cooperation and Training for 2023 between EUFOR and the Armed Forces of BiH, especially with PSOTC – Peace Support Operations Training Center.

The importance of EUFOR’s role in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a guarantor of stability and security was emphasized. It was announced that Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to preserving a stable environment for all its citizens, as well as contributing to international peace.

They also discussed the attempt to disrupt security and peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the joint action of external and internal actors that use open threats, as well as hybrid methods of action.

Bećirović condemned the unconstitutional commemoration of January 9 in the RS entity, assessing that it represents a direct undermining of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The decoration Milorad Dodik presented to Vladimir Putin represents a civilizational shame. Such an immoral act did not occur to any politician in Europe. This only shows that he is a puppet of Putin with the task of destabilizing this part of Europe,” said Bećirović.

He acknowledged the successfully held EUFOR exercise ‘Quick Response 2022’, with the participation of 20 countries that demonstrated EUFOR’s capabilities and determination in contributing to the preservation of a safe environment for all citizens.

It was emphasized that this was an exercise that once again showed the European Union’s commitment to the European future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Press Service of the BiH Presidency announced.
